6 easy tips for reducing your plastic consumption

  1. Carry a reusable water bottle

Dehydration can cause headaches, sore muscles, and fatigue. Stay hydrated throughout your busy day and avoid being tempted to buy plastic wrapped, sugary drinks.

  1. Bring your own shopping bag

Buy in bulk whenever it is available. This doesn’t mean stocking up on unnecessary amounts but it allows you to bring your own containers to fill with dried goods in order to stay away from plastic containers.

  1. Pack your lunches

Plan your meals before heading to the grocery store and be realistic. Try to use the same ingredients for different lunches all week to avoid spending extra money and the risk of letting food go bad.

Make sure they are cleaned and refill them with organic, homemade cleaners – I’ll be posting my zero-waste, all-purpose cleaner soon!

  1. Slow your roll and dine in

Life is busy, so take a break. Avoid take out containers just by sitting down for a healthy meal and use that time to plan the rest of your week or make a to-do list.
